Additional Information:

Diapering is an integral part of raising children and parents of new born babies spend a good amount of time doing the same. And you cannot blame them too because till 6 to 8 months, babies tend to pass both urine and stool quite frequently. And the frequency is even higher among the breast fed babies. As a result, you may need to change up to 10 diapers a day. Baby nappy changing may sound and seem tiring, especially when parents are new in it. But with little practice, you will master in keeping your baby dry and thus jolly. Here are some tips that can help your baby nappy changing session less tedious-

  • Keep the supplies ready within reach. Fasteners when using cloth nappy, rash cream, cotton ball soaked in warm water, wipesetc should be kept handy so that you don't need to leave your baby unattended.
  • Wiping the bottom should be followed by pat drying. This keeps baby skin breathable and he enjoys the activities.
  • Wipe the bottom from front to back. Never practice the reverse way that is back to front because it can lead to urinary tract infection.
  • Nappy has to be changed after every bowel movement. Even if there is no stool in the nappy change it after every 3-4 hours. There are some disposable diapers available in the market that comes with wetness indicator in them. They help babies from rashes and uneasiness while you change less messy nappies.
  • The main problem that a new mom or dad faces while changing baby nappy is managing a squirming baby. Try and distract him with music, a hanging toy, or some favorite item which can divert the attention.
  • Diaper changing is of lesser hassle for grown up babies. Once they shift to pull-up nappies or diapers, changing becomes easier. You can pull it down or tear from sides and bingo, you are done.

There is no denying the fact that diapering is quite an expensive affair. And since it concerns the well-being of your little one, you can never compromise on this front. As a result, you cannot settle for less priced brands too. So best way is to buy them in bulk provided you are sure of the type and size of the diapers. If you are shopping online, you will be sent free samples which help you deciding the right size of diaper for your baby.

Another positive side of buying nappies from online stores is that you can avail some great offers where price per pad is quite less than the one you will get in the pharmacies or supermarkets. These offers are not always from manufacturers. Often the websites offer them at lower price to promote their sales.
